Wendi Albro

Certified Pilates Instructor

Wendi Albro at Bodies in Balance, Portland, Oregon

Patient and dedicated, Wendi's inclusive approach to Pilates is infused with a love and understanding of movement as a critical component to health and well-being. She continually welcomes new ideas to expand her knowledge in how to address each individual's particularities and needs.

Wendi found Pilates in 1998 through her training in modern dance in Seattle, WA. She was amazed at its effectiveness in treating chronic back pain, something she had been dealing with on and off since her early days as a competitive gymnast. Not only that, it improved her dancing, giving her a greater sense of balance, strength, and proper alignment. Later, she would also use Pilates to rehabilitate a knee injury.

In 2004, Wendi moved to San Francisco where she began the Pilates Teacher Training course at Ellie Herman Studios. After becoming certified, she completed the Janda Method of Neuromuscular Reprogramming with Lizz Roman, a method that combines the principles of Pilates with posture analysis, gait assessment, and muscle testing. In San Francisco, Wendi had the pleasure of working closely with several amazing trainers, all of whom have studied with some of the best in the business.

Deborah Bayardino

PMA® Certified Pilates Instructor

Deborah Bayardino at Bodies in Balance, Portland, Oregon

“The body is always moving and communicating, your body is your Self.” The focus of Deborah's work is to develop the idea that the body which practices Pilates is the same one used for all other daily activities (working on the computer, driving a car or having lunch). This notion helps to prevent injuries, loss of movement, and lack of balance. By employing this concept, we can become more autonomous and awaken to our own potential.

Deborah holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from CEUB (1996) and a technical degree in Contemporary Dance at the Angel Vianna School of Movement and Arts in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (1999). She has over 10 years of experience as a Body Awareness and Organization teacher.

She started as a Pilates instructor in 2003 at Studio Pilates in Rio de Janeiro and, by then, she had already completed two years of Physical Therapy studies at the Insituto Brasileiro de Medicina e Reabilitacao (IBMR).

Deborah is currently enrolled at The Oregon Center for the Alexander Technique (OCAT) for their 3 year teacher-training course.
